Although the new meetup has some good things going for it, there are a few things I think if added will make it even better and more member friendly.

1. We need the "Activity" section more visible. It not only helps build the groups member community but allows all to become more involved. My suggestion is to make it a column on the right where the upcoming meetups use to be.

2. We need the ability to add simple color to text again by just highlighting it and choosing a color. This previous feature allowed organizers to stress certain information in the upcoming meetups that is important to the event.

3. We also need to be able to control the text color on the upcoming meetup summary page. Right now it defaults to a color similar to our page color scheme. This doesn't work because a majority of the time the type color is too close to the box color and get's lost or is extreamly hard to read.

4. Both members and organizers NEED to be able to post ideas only. This whole "In the making" thing doesn't work and organizers can't even post anything without it being announced. I have set my group to the setting that only organizers can announce but the problem is the events suggested are still emailed out to members as if "Official" meetups and this is adding confusion. Also we need the ability to add "Ideas" only to see if there is interest from members before dedicating a ton of time and resources to make it a meetup. Most of my meetups are designed by me and involve a lot of work setting up. Work I do not want to do unless I see my members are willing to support the event and they can only let me know that if an "Idea" can be posted for them to consider.

5. a new feature I think would be nice is a section on our group page where we can post videos. I take a lot of video at my events and edit it down to recaps. It would be nice if I can post these for my group like we can with photos.

6. Separate organizer roles again. It should list everyones "Individual" Roles. It creates more clarity to the members and let's them know the order of leadership.

That is the bulk of it for now. If I come across any other bugs or suggestions I will surly let you know. Thank you for your attention to these matters.

Percentage discounts work better for groups outside the US, rather than set currency discounts (e.g. $25 in US dollars). This applies for both the perk business and the group members.
The fluctuating exchange rates are the reason.
Example: If the retailer offers a 25 Pound Discount to UK customers/groups, that discount may be worth more for customers if the pound's exchange rate is favourable versus the value of the dollar on the date of purchase. If the pound drops against the dollar, the discount is worth less. So with a set currency discount, either the retailer or the customer could get a bad deal. Lose-lose.
If someone outside the US purchases something online using a credit card, the credit card will convert the currency with a different rate depending upon the date of the transaction, so dollar / pound amounts might not necessarily be that terrific on the date of purchase.
If it's a percentage discount, 20% off is 20% off, no matter what the exchange rate is, and no matter what country the purchaser is located. The sponsor wouldn't need to send out perk alerts in all the specific currencies of the world to each country where they want to offer international sales. (-:
