Meetup changed the reservation changes notification. It used to say the name of the person and that they changed their reservation making it easy to search through emails to see if people were repeatedly cancelling their reservations at the last minute.

We always have a wait list for our events and keeping reservations open only to repeatedly cancel at the last minute gets you removed from our group. With the changes to the notification we can't tell who is doing that now in order to remove the rude people from our group.

Change back the notification to the way it was.

BACKGROUND: When a user submits a comment or suggestion to the organizers via the Contact button aka suggestion page located at http://www.meetup.com/NAME-OF-MEETUP-GROUP/suggestion/ , the meetup website sends an email containing the suggestion to all of the group's organizers.

PROBLEM: In fine print, buried in the footer is the text "This message was sent to you and NN other organizers of NAME-OF-GROUP". That text is easy to miss. As a result, an organizer might think it was a personal message, and then you have multiple organizers responding to one suggestion and not coordinating.

SUGGESTION: Move the "This message was sent..." text to the top of the email, and make the font bigger/bolder, so it is clear that the message is coming in through the suggestion box.

The "Check-In" feature via the mobile app allows anyone to bypass the RSVP process even if events are FULL or CLOSED. Anyone can "check-in" up to 1/2 hour before an event and 3 hours after the event start time. As an organizer of a hiking meetup where the RSVP process requires participants to answer questions and accept a liability waiver for physical activities I need to be able to better manage who can and cannot attend based on their abilities. This known feature completely compromises our ability to manage our group. I've had several members "check-in" and therefore be part of an advanced hiking event that had no business joining. I've also had people "check-in" to an event that had a cap on the number of participants. We (organizers) have no capability to check via the web site if anyone had checked in until 3 hours have passed at which point it is too late. Even if we check via the mobile app we can't tell the difference between a legitimate "check-in" (i.e. a properly RSVP'd participant) and the drive-by check-in as they both appear the same way within the app.

Please disable this feature or at least allow us organizers to disable it. Or change the feature such that ONLY if you RSVP to an event can you check-in. Perhaps an option during event creation that if checked on would require the "check-in" capability to have an associated RSVP of YES. We have the option to allow guests so why not have the option to allow "check-in".

I'm not necessarily an organizer, but some groups allow others to create meetups.

Once created, there is no simple way to simply see what meetups one has created. And if those meetups are as-yet unscheduled, they also are not on a calendar.

Trying to find a single meetup on a possibly VERY busy calendar is simply a fail.

Since you do show "upcoming meetups" for a particular group, it'd be utter simplicity for a checkbox to say "show only those I created". The database query is obviously trivial as well, unless you don't actually store the creator of a meetup (which seems unlikely)

Here in trendy Portland, seems like there are dozens of new people at new meetups every week! We've thrilled about all the new opportunities for people to connect, but even here in bike city, lots of people are driving to their meetups. Suppose that as soon as I RSVP "yes", a button pops up asking me if I'd like to carpool & if I respond "yes" I am directed to an option box which allows me to enter whether or not I can drive or want a ride, what part of town, how many passengers, etc. Right now I'm hearing lots of "I meant to ask if anyone wanted a ride but just didn't get comment posted", etc.

1 Million RSVPs!!! Big Event: Free 2 start a group:Cities w/few active meetups A shout out to cities who aren't in from cities that are in (like Raleigh shout out to Charleston, SC, etc) Something that would include more than 1 person (so people don't hover for 1 millionth position like in an eBay auction ;p) but some sort of big event to mark the occasion, something that would get towns that have few to no meetup events but are big web connected cities (like Charleston, SC) a big reason to sign up and start a meetup. I just found out (is it true?) Meetup is like a Phoenix out of the ashes of the 911 towers tragedy? Maybe a week of free sign-ups for cities that have fewer than "x" number of active groups? Do a commercial? TV ads seemed to give eHarmony a boost, maybe partner /share an event with a big singles website/co-host with the singles groups on meetup? Something like that?
