When you see the list of members signed up for an event, it should tell you which events have been attended by both you and that other member. Having this info would mean that you can easily see whether there are people you know attending and would help avoid the embarrassment of introducing yourself to someone you've already met!

Have a customized email default that users edit from a single location so that users don't have to go into each group's email settings and notifications. This is time consuming. It can't be difficult for those programmers at Meetup to create something better than the current way of changing email notifications.

I believe that wiki is a MUST for a system like Meetup, because it's the only simple solution to build and share information within a group of users.
Hope that wiki application will be available soon into Meetup framework.

I am NOT willing to travel to Brooklyn and NJ, and since it is obvious that you are aware that I live in Queens, you might ask all your users to name the places where they are NOT willing to travel to. This would customize your offerings, make things more efficient for everyone and generate more satisfied customers. :)

Create functionality that allows the Organizer of a Private Meetup group to hide the group from members profiles.
We are having issues with getting all our members to comply and hide their groups. We are a private group and often people try to join because they see our group listed on a friends profile. In order to join, they need a passcode, but it is inconvenient for the organizers because we have to email and ask questions about how they found us.

Create functionality that only allows members to RSVP "Yes" for an event, unless they are changing from a "Yes" to a "No."
Organizers do not need to recieve email every time a member says no. Obviously if they are not a yes, they are a no. If they wish to leave a comment as to why they cannot make it, they can leave a comment on the event.

It'd be really cool if you could build up some points or some equivalent from presenting at meetups. I know there are perks from individual meetup groups themselves for speaking, but spreading the incentive across different meetup groups might be fun.
This could be like the contribution squares on github - when you propose to speak at conferences, you could send your meetup page that would show much speaker cred you have.

Is there any way to indicate more than one language in mi profile?

Starting a new meetup generally incurs cost in a number of areas (venues, etc.) so it'd be a huge help if small groups could operate their meetups free of charge until they reach critical mass. Perhaps allow groups with less than 20 members to operate free of charge, then start paying once they grow beyond this and it becomes financially viable?

Currently, even though you have those boxes unchecked under Email and Communication Setting, you WILL still receive email from organizer due to a change to a meetup. BUT that change to a meetup email is sent to all members on the group including ones that did NOT signed up or RSVP for. An option to eliminate email from organizers that sent in a bulk list will be great.

Allow us to set our "DEFAULT" emails/notifications template that applies to ALL our MeetUps, then optionally modify the exceptions as opposed to us having to go in and manually click all the identical choices for each MeetUp individually.

Also, for some reasons, is seems like my "customized" settings for a particular MU sometimes get changed and I start receiving stuff I said I don't want... can the Organizer override our stated options?

Both days left and spots left logo that are on the right of the RSVP button in the meetup feed are just white rectangles with the number inside it and either days or spots left written too small in my opinion. To help members easily recognize whether that number stands for days left or spots left, I suggest we change the colour of that rectangle and/or make the word 'spots' and 'days' as big as the number.

When an organizer steps down, an automated message goes out that contains only one link: "Keep this group going". Members who click that button instantly become organizer. Dumb! Instead, the button should take them to info about how to become organizer of that group, including links to the group page so the member can review it first.
