organizer global email settings
Allow the organizer to globally set what type of emails are sent to group member. It would be nice in my group to turn off some of the email notifications that all members get as they're relavent or helpful to my group. They just add to the perceived spam.

Meetup Templates
The objective is to make it easier and less intimidating for non-organizers to post meetups.
The meetups could be pre-configured with typical event locations a pre-set limit to the attendees and with further directions specific to the meetup group. The person would only need to fill in beyond some basic details about the event is the date and time.
i.e. - Template title: Meeting at Park Entrance - Limited to 10 people

rsvp
Provide a "Monitor" button as one of the RSVP options. There are many meetups that are posted months before they take place or that are pending a date/place. I usually don't want to put myself down as a 'Yes' RSVP until it gets closer or until the date/location is set as this gives the organizer an inaccurate read on the level of interest. By not RSVP'ing to 'Yes', I miss out on updates to the meetup and reminders. RSVP'ing with 'Monitor' would allow me to continue to get updates on the meetup, reminders as it gets closer and get notified…

Signup more userfriendly
During signup should give various personal information like where do I come from, gender etc. WTF, WHY? When confirming the first login, I MUST provide a photo - hell, WHY?!
Also the "give a brief introduction" - okay, is this posted somewhere, is it just on my profile page? Why do I HAVE to enter something?
I just wanted to join a meetup group. After logging in I have to go to settings again and remove information about birthday and gender again.

Calender of user confirmed events
You need to incorporate a calendar in each users home page, which lists all the events they have rsvp'd for.
This will allow a user to see at a glance exactly which events he/she is scheduled to attend. Someone who is very active can easily lose track of events they are scheduled to attend, and this creates problems for organisers etc.
Also a copy of this calendar (or list of confirmed events) could be emailed to each user on a weekly basis. Rather than receiving separate notifications for each event, why not consolidate ALL events into one notification?

Member's profile in RSVP should say which events you have both attended
When you see the list of members signed up for an event, it should tell you which events have been attended by both you and that other member. Having this info would mean that you can easily see whether there are people you know attending and would help avoid the embarrassment of introducing yourself to someone you've already met!

Improve Email Notification Options
Have a customized email default that users edit from a single location so that users don't have to go into each group's email settings and notifications. This is time consuming. It can't be difficult for those programmers at Meetup to create something better than the current way of changing email notifications.

Wiki. The wiki is the only real solution to share and build information inside a team.
I believe that wiki is a MUST for a system like Meetup, because it's the only simple solution to build and share information within a group of users.
Hope that wiki application will be available soon into Meetup framework.1 vote -

Please email me about new game-playing Meetup groups in Forest Hills, NOT Brooklyn and NJ
I am NOT willing to travel to Brooklyn and NJ, and since it is obvious that you are aware that I live in Queens, you might ask all your users to name the places where they are NOT willing to travel to. This would customize your offerings, make things more efficient for everyone and generate more satisfied customers. :)

Create functionality that allows the Organizer of a Private Meetup group to hide the group from members profiles.
Create functionality that allows the Organizer of a Private Meetup group to hide the group from members profiles.
We are having issues with getting all our members to comply and hide their groups. We are a private group and often people try to join because they see our group listed on a friends profile. In order to join, they need a passcode, but it is inconvenient for the organizers because we have to email and ask questions about how they found us.1 vote -
Create functionality that only allows members to RSVP "Yes" for an event, unless they are changing from a "Yes" to a "No."
Create functionality that only allows members to RSVP "Yes" for an event, unless they are changing from a "Yes" to a "No."
Organizers do not need to recieve email every time a member says no. Obviously if they are not a yes, they are a no. If they wish to leave a comment as to why they cannot make it, they can leave a comment on the event.1 vote -

Points for speaking at events
It'd be really cool if you could build up some points or some equivalent from presenting at meetups. I know there are perks from individual meetup groups themselves for speaking, but spreading the incentive across different meetup groups might be fun.
This could be like the contribution squares on github - when you propose to speak at conferences, you could send your meetup page that would show much speaker cred you have.1 vote -

I’m afraid there is not currently a way to list two languages. I’ll leave your suggestion open for anyone else who would like for vote for this option :)

Have a free tier to help small groups get started
Starting a new meetup generally incurs cost in a number of areas (venues, etc.) so it'd be a huge help if small groups could operate their meetups free of charge until they reach critical mass. Perhaps allow groups with less than 20 members to operate free of charge, then start paying once they grow beyond this and it becomes financially viable?

Allow organisers to communicate with your members
Is there any intelligent reason a member can opt out of the messages of organisers?
It isn't even transparent to organisers who gets their messages and who opted out.
This makes it not only particularly hard to deal with zombie members (I don't even know if they are just on life support or already dead). It is actually bonkers, especially in regard of the vast amount of automated communication produced by the system that is annoying members anyway. It would be really great to start and focus on what communication is necessary to make a group work and what is…

Yeah, please make it easier to change your twitter account! I have no idea how.
I want to update my twitter but cannot find anywhere to do so! Not even a remove button.
