Opt out of photo tags
For those of us who do not wish to be tagged, a one-time setting that allows us to opt out of being publicly identified, without ever having to worry about it again.

If there is a one cost for an event, it HAS to be posted in the header line
I think in this economy where some of us have to be budget conscious, that there should be a feature where if there is a one time cost for that particular event. (from donations to expensive tickets) that it be mandatory to put in the header of the details of the events. Membership fees can remain on the side as they are now.
Making it difficult to find the cost is especially prevalent when an event is especially expensive (or a meetup isn't for a social occasion but a ruse for a business like a lesson etc.) and I know…

Clarify options for organizers to email members
On the page where organizers have options for which members they want to send emails to, it is not clear whether the terms "active" and "inactive" are referring to how recently a member visited the group's Meetup page or to how recently they attended an event.

group view + date view + MAP VIEW
Sometime we just want something closer enough to the place we are. Add a map view can be useful to know whats going on around you. Could be an additional option to group and date view.

Put a close box on the pop-ups that thumbnail members
Often, when surfing one of my meetups, I accidentally drag my cursor over a hot-spot and up comes a dialog with a thumbnail about a member or similar.
Problem is that they interfere with what I am trying to read and are hard to get out of the way. They don't drag and don't close with a click.

Let organizers see each individual comment and rating after the meetup
I often notice a less then 5/5 rating, but cant tell who submitted it nad the reason behind this. If I knew, the reason for the score, I may be able to fix it.

Stop COLLAPSING upcoming event's preview in main body of home pages.
One tiny adjustment of the existing visual format could greatly enhance the visibility of groups and profit Meetup.com and groups alike. Here’s a link to a picture that illustrates the simple change, except ideally the screencapture on the right would keep the right sidebar seen on Meetup group home pages:
http://imageshack.us/a/img16/9222/meetupcustserv032913.jpg
Currently, on all Meetup group home pages, the upcoming meetup event is collapsed. It causes the entire body of the page to be dominated by text, which doesn't allow a group to market itself with eye catching material. And, by extension, it makes Meetup.com look dated/boring/primitive/oldschool. A customizable banner…

It would be good to have a meetup inbox. It's not very intuitive now.
Also, the messages one sends and receives are not private. At least it would be good to be notified that this is so.

View Your Own RSVPs
It really annoys me that there isn't a page on Meetup.com where I can view (and ONLY view) the meetups that I've RSVP'ed for. I don't want to view a list of all meetups available for me to RSVP (ones that I haven't even yes Yes or No to attend). I want to see only the meetups that I've RSVP'ed for either Yes or No, since either of those require me to actually click something and confirm. I RSVP'ed for a lot of meetups at the same time and it's difficult for me to track what I'm supposed to be…

Member comments on Site come with a huge delay via email (delaying interactive approach)....
Right now - the best way to "handle" it is to have the Site open and click F5 (to refresh) every second in order to see the most recent comments...1 vote -
Make it easier to see and edit your profile, and make messages from members easier to find
There should be a quick tab that takes you to your own profile where you can easily change your information like what you do for a living and bio on the same screen. Messages should be able to be viewed here also.

correction required to default place name setting> Winfield, BC no longer exists as a place name officially it should be Lake Country BC
even though some locals still use that term, it is almost 20 years since we became Lake Country, BC, we should use the correct Municipal name. Officially, there is no place called Winfield, BC, it is only a ward of the municipality of Lake Country, BC

Some of my member do not rsvp to some events but just show up some times. It would be good to say good to see you so we know when those members came to an event.

I’m afraid I’m a bit unclear about the feature you’re asking for. Is it an update to the automatic reminders for an event? Or something else? Please comment and let us know a bit more.

Add "organizer notes" to meetup member profiles
It would be incredibly helpful for me, as an organizer, to be able to post notes to a member's profile that only I (and my co-organizers, or assistant organizers) can see. This would allow the leadership team to share/record important information about individual members that would help us to run the group.
For example, having "organizer notes" would help me to keep track of the "no show" warnings given to a member as per my groups "no show policy". That way I can see when and how many warnings were given. It would also help to keep track of basic…

Add predefined fields for speed and distance of Meetup events like hikes, bicycle rides and kayaking
Many Meetup events like bicycle rides, hikes, and kayak trips have a distance and speed that needs to be specified. Some Meetup leaders forget to add these important parameters to their Meetup description. It would be great if Meetup could add predefined fields for the trip distance and trip average speed that would appear just below the "What should we do?" and above the "More details" fields.

Allow perk submitters to offer something to the groups for having them accept the perk.
More perks will be accepted if you are able to offer the Meetup's a promotion for accepting the perk.
I know as a meetup organizer I would certainly be more tempted to accept a perk if there was something in it for my team.
