Explain the waiting list better
I wish this idea was more concrete, but it's really just raising a pain point. One of the most frequent issues that I've seen with my group is that people don't know how the waiting list works. Not just details; they have no idea of the concept of the waiting list. I frequently get people attending the meetup from the waiting list. And my most common question is, "I'm on the waiting list. Does this mean I should come?"
I thought about renaming the waiting list, but I think the name is pretty clear. Perhaps just more tips about what…

Ability to import members for established organizations (like Schools)
I work at a High School - all teachers and staff have a school account. It would be nice to quickly upload all to a private MeetUp group so we can share events.
Another option would be to only allow members with a specific email domain... for example anyone with a @MySchoolName.org name.
This would prevent non-school signups.

Create a page on the site where local Event Space providers can offer their space to Meetup Organizers.
Create a page on the site where local "Event Space providers" can offer their space to Meetup Organizers. Many times organizers have a hard time locating affordable or free space for events. This resource page would provide organizers with localized listings of providers.
This information is then used to expand meetup by allowing more organizers to find better more suitable venues to host events. This expands meetup capabilities to host more events.

stop automatically assuming that because I post an event, means I want to attend it.
I have a very active meetup group and finally have gotten members to suggest meetups. Just because I post the meetup event, doesn't mean I want to attend it. I hate having to go back in and change my RSVP.

The calendar view should switch with interests
It's more intuitive to view all the schedules on a calendar instead of a list of meetups that you have to scroll up and down to know today's schedule. As for interests, organize them in the order of relevance.

Change the checkin time window on the Android app to be the same as for the iPhone app
When arriving early to a meetup, I've noticed my friends with iPhones can checkin as soon as they arrive (at least up to 30 minutes prior).
With the android app though, I seem to need to wait until within 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time. If there are enough people already there I often never remember to return to the app (or I am unwilling to be rude by popping out my smartphone) to go back and perform the checkin when the app will let me.

link github account with meetup profile
I would like to link my github account with my meetup profile. The result is that people can see my linked github account on meetup.com exactly the same way they see my linked twitter account.

Make is clear that the new feature text box is for the title; that another box will appear later with room for a description.
The actual box for the description doesn't appear until the user clicks on "Post an idea..."

Separate Notification Frequency Setting for Meetups RSVPed YES to.
A user might have a no-more-than-once-a-day setting for notification frequency. But, for a meetup s/he's signed up for, s/he might want notifications as discussion items appear. [They're usually changes in plans, late details, etc.]

Change "organizer" to "group organizer."
Yes, I'm the organizer of the overall group, but for any specific Meetup, I may just be an attendee. The current label makes it sound like I'm charge of that specific meeting, when in fact I'm not.

Allow the Sponsor URL to include referral punctuation, so we can earn rewards on those clicks.
One of my sponsors gave me a unique URL address to track how many people I send to their site ... but I get an error message that it "Doesn't look like a URL". Please expand your accepted formats to include referral punctuation, so we can earn those rewards. For example: http://lv.houseseats.com/?referer=cyn@grangegraphics.com
As is, I can hack it as a Perk URL, but they belong with the sponsors and should be formatted as such, as well as equal mention on the Event Invitations where all sponsors and their links are listed at the bottom of group emails.

Re scheduling
Allow organizers to preview the event they are creating prior to posting or emailing it. It would be really helpful. Thanks!

message list of the mailing list not reachable to everybody
It would be better that all the messages exchanges among the members could not be reached by anybody as now: also non meetup.com members can see everything and this is not good for privacy of our member (sometimes in their messages of the mailing list are speaking about their own private): please make a sort of button for leadership group to decide who can see the list of messages (anybody, only leadership team, only organizer/superassistant). Thanks

Share location info for events being attended with the Waze & Apple maps apps.
Waze just updated their app so that event location info is pulled into Waze. This seems to be a great thing to do with Meetup as well.

Banned members, reasons why banned for Organizers
It would be helpful if you gave us a comment section for when we "ban" a member. I took over a group with quite a few "banned member" and I'm not sure why they were banned from the group.
If you give us a comment section when we "ban" a member ,it will give a referral as to why we or a previous organizer "Banned" a member.It will give us some in site if a Banned member asked to be reinstated back into the group

How about a setting for selecting a notification sound on androids? If I wanted my settings dictated to me I would have bought an iPhone.

Check in people that attend meetup with iphone or ipad app
Allow organizer to checkin people at the door from iPhone. Similar to Eventbrite.
