What new feature would you like to see on Meetup, and why?

additional RSVP-members name field

Add an additional field for what the RSVP counts are called. In our group, we have 68 members, but when members RSVP they may include guests which are members of their family or friends. It is confusing when you see 68 members, but 57 RSVP and half of the RSVP's are guests and not actual members of the group.

I agree with that. In the past, members could add the name of their guest but this option has been deleted. They should be required to add the name of their guest.

Why isn't this implemented already? Don't meetup folk eat their own dogfood in NYC where any building's security requires full names of those RSVPing? The questionnaire doesn't cut it as it can by bypassed and doesn't enforce 2 name fields and isn't tied to the APIs in order to generate a RSVP list for security.

Meetup has this feature (specify name during RSVP process), but it doesn't work (as of May 2011)! A group I belong to asks for your Full Name in a plain text field during RSVP (survey question?), but that text field is not included in the RSVP list that they print out to meet the venue's security requirements.

        Additional Suggestions:
        1. Allow aliases for display in Comments and "Going" / "Wait" / "Not Going" lists. Users should have control over which group are RSVPed with the Full Name (for organizers' eyes only) saved in your account profile or Alias. This is for privacy in general as well as privacy from search engines.

        2. For the Moms, vote for the User Categories suggestion.

It would similarly be great to be able to invite an existing Meetup/group member to take your guest slot.

It would also be great if you could use email addresses to refer to guests, for instance to request somebody who's already a meetup member to join you, or even just to send them an email with event details.

We also NEED this feature desperately!! We are a PTA organization and schedule our "outings" on this site. We sometimes have a separate charge for Adults vs. Children and sometimes our count is for the kids only. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make our lives simpler!

There are several suggestions for adult/child categories from groups that require that distinction, some suggestions for male/female categories from groups for which that is important, and I'm sure there other categories that are useful for other groups. Allowing organizer setable categories should satisfy all these needs, and would probably also resolve controversy over restoring "Maybe" RSVPs.

It would also be great to have a # of Adults and # of Kids option when people RSVP.

This would really help out our playgroup-Lakeside Moms and Tots. When we plan a party it's nice to know how many kids opposed to adults are coming. The "guest" option is too ambiguous.

Even for groups that are not playgroups, being able to see when someone is bringing a child vs an adult guest is critical. Try to make reservations at a restaurant or other venue without knowing that the "guests" are infants in slings... impossible!

Yes, this would really help us out when we have parties.
