add a system status page for critical problems.
Suppose a critical piece of functionality, such as the ability to indicate if one plans to attend an event, breaks. After a few retries, users do not want to search a forum to determine if the folks at Meetup are aware of the problem. If there was a single web page where users could quickly find out if the problem is being worked on, then users would know that they, or their browser, are not at fault. For Meetup, this status page might reduce the number of bug reports that are received when something breaks.
Personally I would have a link to this page in the main help page, and in the "Contact Meetup" page. Links back to the new feature forums and the "Something is broken! How do I report a bug?" page may be helpful as well.
