add the ability to rotate photos during and after upload
You can now rotate photos when uploading them, or when selecting a different photo for your profile.

Imanuela-
They say it was completed but it was not. They only added the ability to rotate a *profile* photo, which was not the main thing all these people were asking for for the last 2-3 years. I wrote support@meetup.com. I suggest everyone else do that, too. Warning- They just told me to create a new uservoice suggestion! LOL -

I didn't see an option to rotate them while uploading. This is such a basic function -- please allow us to rotate photos after the upload!

Please add support to rotate pictures in albums after upload, they may appear ok on local devices and are shown rotated after uploading. With the number of different interfaces to support, i access meetup from iOS, Android and web, having the ability to fix via the web site view would at least allow people to fix those rotated images. Having the organizer able to do it at least would be a great start.

I agree with the above request, to be able to rotate pictures after upload. But how about MORE control ... ability to crop, adjust brightness/contrast ?
AND: please make it an ORGANIZER option whether pictures can be copied from out site !!!

Facebook allows you to rotate pictures. This should be an easy fix. I use Microsoft Photo Editor to rotate my iphone pics and when uploaded to meetup they are sideways... Putting in my vote to get this fixed!

Started on Jan 26, 2012 and they're still working on it?
How hard could it be to allow users to manually rotate their photos once they are uploaded?

Use 3 votes for this as my images (taken on an iPhone) are the correct orientation until I upload them to meetup.com -- it already takes enough time to select the ones I want to upload so I don't want to be going through a whole bunch of steps opening them up and resaving them in hopes that somehow the orientation will transfer correctly. Meetup needs to solve this -- 8 MONTHS SINCE THE REPLY SAYS ITS BEING WORKED ON!

I experience the problem like this: I take photos with my iPhone, then view them on my MacBook, and they are all right-side-up. Then, I upload them to Meetup and they are all sideways or upside down!
My understanding is there is some kind of meta tag in the photo file that tells the phone and computer and any technologically current website how the orientation of the photo is to be, and adjusts it automatically. Meetup needs to start using this technology!!! I don't even know they are upside down until I have already uploaded them!
Besides, why have us all to go to the trouble of adjusting every single photo indvidually when it is entirely unnecessary if the current technologies are being utilized?
Obviously, if this technology is being used, it will eliminate the need for the vast majority of photos to be rotated!
That being said, I also support being able to rotate a photo once it's uploaded - perhaps by the one who uploaded it or by the organizers. Cause, you never know...

You can rotate your own photos with everything from, phone, camera, free utilities (IrfanView), to Photoshop. I have uploaded many hundreds of photos from various cameras and phones to multiple meetup groups. I have never seen a sideways or upside-down photo, ever.

I agree, this would be great!
Specially when showing the great mounting hiking photos to colleagues on Monday! -

Yes we need to be able to rotate pictures after they are uploaded. Many viewers handle the rotating when viewing so it is hard to tell if the picture should be rotated before it is uploaded.
