Make it easier to search for or find past meetups in a group
Hi there,
It would be nice to have an option to search for a past meetup in a group with keywords of the "Event name" , organizers name and attendees name. So if someone wants to pull out info of past meetups, it will be easy.

Michelle, your comments make me smile this morning. SO true. I love my meet-up but all this nonsense has me considering closing it, which I don't really want to do (but have paid my - unrefundable - dues until september). My 370 members will be upset too if I close it. I find it so weird that Meetup does not care two hoots about organizers when we are the ones who pay, not the members. However, I have more of an issue over the new "advertising" of other meet-ups and their next meeting on my home site and am virtually being told by Meetup "take it or leave it".

Folks are you reading these comments? Every one of them are right on!!! Stop playing around with the "Give your meetups a fresh coat of paint" when this option is not only important but extremely vital to us organizers who want to help Meetup successful

I use so many of my past events for the present it would be so nice just to type in a date or an event without clicking 4-5 years in the past to find the event I'd like to do again.

That is a good idea. The title, host, attended members and/or any word in the description should be searchable by a "Search" text box on the "past events" page.

I would simply like the ability to search the title of the meetup event. I don't think the search code needs to traverse all of the responses and replies, only the title.

I just read some of these comments - 236 of them - and it seems that many organizers are really frustrated - as I am - by the lack of implementation of this feature which would save us a lot of time when wanting to copy a past event. Or at least tell us why you can't do this.

Why is this taking so long to implement? 7 months to figure out how to add a keyword for past events?

If you implement this allow the search of future events as well as past events.

Adding a search feature is free and easy and sorely needed. Please do it soon!

PLEASE make this possible!! I'm not sure if this was mentioned in previous comments (too many to read through) but maybe also make it so there is a drop down menu for month and year when you're looking at the calendar view. That way you don't have to keep hitting the back arrow to go back to the month a year before....I like to see what we had planned the year prior.
And yes, make key words searchable!

Under review is the meetup method of "we know you want it, but we're ignoring you". The other method is no response. I really don't know why Meetup bothers with a "User Voice" when they have their fingers perpetually in their ears.

This has been under review for over 5 months. This is a no-brainer, and fairly easy to implement. Instead you change layouts and remove useful functions. When will you realize that we, the Organizers, are the paying customers? You belittle and berate us and make asinine unilateral changes, all the while scratching your heads cluelessly, wondering why meetup enthusiasm is declining. This is a truly useful feature that would allow us to duplicate past events without scrolling back month-by-month, a truly tedious practice which inhibits the posting of new meetups.

Maybe this is already mentioned before (I can't read thru all 227 comments) but every time you browse page to page thru Past Events list, finally get to event you want (say the 100th past event), then drill into the page, then close the page, the cursor goes back to the first page / the most recent event page. It is so frustrating. I have had to create a manual excel sheet of all my past events and record the links to each event so I can reference it. As an organizer, I always clone past events to create new events.

Access by date would be so helpful, too. Yesterday I wanted to lookup an event that occurred in spring of 2009. I went to the group page and then had to click backwards thru the calendar, one month at a time. How stupid. It would be very easy to add month/year entry with a submit button.

My group does some of the same events each year. I like to pull up the old event and copy it instead of reinventing the wheel each time. As we have more and more events, it takes forever to click back to the ones from a year ago. The search feature can just be for organizers, if that makes it easier to implement. The average member doesn't need that ability. Thanks.

or at least make the listing more user friendly. Currently, if I want to see more than the few meetups listed, I need to scroll all the way down, then click on "view more", which puts me all the way back to the top, then I have to scroll down again and click for a second time on "view more", which finally shows me more listings. awkward!

This is ridiculous. My group is only a couple years old but has 573 past meetups. How the hell do I search for past events? Browse manually through every single one? Absurd. I am a paying customer here and every free site even has search. EVERYTHING has search.
