Allow multiple payment amounts for events
On many events we often have different options for our members with different costs. An example would be member chooses between tent camping or renting a cabin. It would be nice to handle this option on the event page rather than behind the scenes.

I agree, we need this.
I'd like to be able to offer all three payment methods instead of being restricted to one.
And Maya, I agree with Leo's comment. People may not be using the payment feature because of the lack of features.
Great site, thanks!

We really need this too
We need to take a deposit for a meetup and then a subsequent remaining amount.
Currently need to setup a second meetup event but then there is no way to restrict this to original people.
real problem !

We really, really need this! After the "use of multiple Paypal accounts", this is our next most-desired feature. We're in the midst of planning a week-long camping trip in Zion National Park with a long list of optional activities requiring separate fees and reservations. Trying to figure out who's going where and paying for what wouldn't be so frustrating if members had different payment amounts. They need to pay to RSVP but I don't want them to over-or under-pay OR have to issue refunds.

That would be very helpful for us also. We have different prices for things like kayak trips where the cost is different if you're bringing your own kayak or renting. Also, some prices might be different for children, seniors, students, etc. We need this badly!

My kayaking club has individual memberships and family memberships. The inability to have multiple dues amounts is one of the things that keeps us from using meetup. The inability to do renewals and send reminders is also a major factor.

Please know, anyone 'pre-added to event' avoids the payment mechanism. (We use that for VIP Guests, Speakers, etc. They can always say 'no, thank you' and un-rsvp.)

This will allow organizers to give back a little to the leadership team for the work that they do and/or for loyalty to the group.

Not being able to do this, accompanied by the fact that at the time of an Yes RSVP I cannot require a payment being made directly to the vendor, is causing me to charge member $45, then refund some of them $10 and others $20. As I understand it this increases the PayPal and/or Amazon fees. It would also be nice when requiring an immediate payment with an Yes RSVP to be able to choose to also allow a Maybe RSVP.

Hi Maya:
The question then becomes what came first the Chicken or the Egg.
Are people not using it because of the limitation of features? or like you say the features are not justified due to the number of people using it? -

It is indeed a fantastic idea, perhaps the number of people who use payment would be larger if payments inside meetup was better: ability to print the ledger, have full names listed there (you see members full names anyway when people pay with PayPal), staggered payments, etc. Way too many organizers actually USE payments in cash at events, they just don´t use ONLINE payments due to security concerns or limitations in the platform, so you don´t see the actual # of users

This is a fantastic idea and something we wanted to do originally, but the number of people who use the event payments feature is just too low for the amount of work involved in building this. If more people start to use payments we will definitely reconsider this request.
