Bring back the "Not Going" filter on the Home Page.
The new Meetup home page no longer allows you to filter out your "Not Going" events. It doesn't even show you the events you've marked as "Not Going"! This is a major inconvenience.
I was unaware of this area, but was directed here by the Meetup Community Team. I contacted them because of the effects of this change and reproduce my comments below:
"Your blog with regard to the update of "A simpler homepage" earlier this month states "It’s easier than ever to plan for the weeks ahead." However on the contrary this seems to have turned something that I used on a daily basis into something that is now simply unusable for me. I am very much hoping that I have missed something in the functionality because I have already missed more than one Meetup that I would have attended otherwise and talking to friends I don't appear to be the only one in this situation.
I like the look and feel of the new homepage and far prefer the display of events to the previous feed, these are great enhancements. However the change to the filtering functionality is a huge problem. The tab "All" may be of use in rural areas but in a huge city with thriving Meetups like London it is completely impractical to use. "From my groups + suggestions" is also unusable for those of us already in a number of very busy Meetup groups. The presence of these options, while of no use to me is however not a problem. What is however, is the loss of the option that I used to use on a daily basis, of those Meetups that I am attending + those I haven't decided about.
If I get say 20 Meetup invitations in a day from my groups I will RSVP No immediately to those that I know that I am not going to attend. I then would review my calendar daily looking at those that I wasn't sure about combined with those that I had RSVPed Yes to. Now to look at these I seem to need to wade repeatedly through those that I have already rejected, something which is unmanageable.
I very much hope that either I have missed something in the options or that this filter can be re-instated on the (great otherwise) new homepage otherwise my Meetup experience is going to be much diminished."
Following the reply from the Meetup Community Team I am now engaging in a cull of my groups as it is impossible to cope with them all and I will have to make do with just the most used one or two. It will still be no where near as functional as before when this filter was present.
