I really DO NOT LIKE the new home page. Much perfer the old one.
The old home page was much more useful.
The search bar is far too big. It should not float or it should be a sidebar. It obstructs far too much area of the screen.
The new design and search SUCKS
The calendar is OK as my "homepage". But I prefer the old look. I miss the list of comments and actions by people in my groups, all in one solid chronological list. It's hard to keep up with what's going on now. Shame on MeetUp; being difficult and cruel to us is no fun to folks who are old, rushed and/or forgetful!!
Ok, where do I begin? First, it was not easy to find a way to give meetup my feedback.
I am writing because I liked the homepage before this most recent change better. I figured out how to find "my feed," and I think that should be the default homepage for everyone. That way you can see what meetups your friends are signing up for, and you can follow conversations that are current. Also you can welcome new members. The new format cuts us of from all that useful stuff that promotes community.
Thanks for improving the home page. It's much better and easier to read and find events. It appears a little too light though, can the font colors be made darker or bolder?
I don't really ever complain about such things but the new layout is really bleak and uninformative- it doesn't inspire you to RSVP to anything, whereas the previous news stream showed you who was going to which events and that helped more people RSVP etc. Thanks x
The old home page was great, calendar, recent activity and almost every thing you needed. The "new " home page sucks, and is the same as the "find meetup" page. with no info bring back the old page and stop making changes that do not help us( and really suck)
To whom it may concern,
Just wanted to jive my input that I don't like the new feature.
I use to the people who were going to the diferent events. and got to see new events that were posted instead of being e-mailed about them.
Your new look for a simpler homepage is terrible. the meetup that we are interested is small and see only one meeting at a time, no messages and no organizers. And then we have the rest of the page with meetups in the areas that we are not interested in!! It is not because a meetup is close to us that we want to go.
Please do not implement it
New site boring
The new look to Meetup with a less personalized informational front page is absolutely awful! Give me my old Meetup back, with the latest posts etc. from all my groups!!! Very disappointed in you!!
MEETUP! What did you do. I just saw your new page...it is absolutely hideous..I have been you folks since the beginning and have to say the WAS the BEST product on the internet...BUt this.... this is going to end up like myspace... to bad this was such a professional meeting site.. oh well another perfect business model and website is falling for the old " hey let's make this better "...and you didn't..
I do not like the new layout where everything is separate. I think it is user unfriendly.
I see no advantage to the new format. Why can't we opt to stay with the old one?
I really enjoy seeing the people going to events, some in which i may not have attended otherwise. That is no longer visable..why??? The pics. are getting smaller & blurry to even see,(i still remember the change that took place a year or two ago that made them smaller), I like to see the people going. My entire home page is boring now..nothing there, but my friends & events..Yuck! Loved going to the right side & seeing whos all going to events..please change this back! We are ALL complaining about the same thing over on this side!!!
I don't like the "simpler" homepage. I liked the feeds on the homepage. AT least give us the option to go back to the old homepage. The simpler one is crappy.
Unless I'm missing something, I have to go into each Group I belong to if I want to see who has joined or who is going to a scheduled event. If I wanted to see all my group's and their activities, I used the calendar.
Go back to the interface you had until it got screwed up tonight.
The main page is now just a calendar. Bring back the old activity feed with new RSVPs, new discussions, discussion replies, and uploaded event photos. It is too time consuming for members to visit each group to see discussions, RSVPs, and photos one group at a time. Losing the activity feed items removes the community feeling and makes eliminates the excitement of seeing what is going on with your groups. The main page should not just be a bland calendar!
What's up with the new main meetup homepage. Hate it. Hate it.
I cannot see who just joined which event on my groups -- grrrr
This change just happened and it's more difficult to see which events I might want to attend based on other attendees. Please put the news feed and the meetup events calendar back on the same page for easy viewing and cross-referencing. With this new change I have to move between 2 different pages to see the activities (feed) of my groups and see what the calendar events are and then go to a third page to see who is attending the actual events. Please go back to the old way. Thanks.
New Feature: A simpler homepage to discover Meetups you’ll love...want to bet? I HATE IT. I want it back like it was yesterday, with discussions and the calendar that shows the groups I belong to. Why the HELL did you change it with no way to make it the way I WANT IT TO BE?
on the Home Page. They work much better together and I don't want to go back and forth when I see activity in one group and want to see what I have on the calendar.
News feed needs to be front & center. It shows what is popular and what is not without spending time coming thru emails of events. With news feeds front & center participation is greater. I have now missed a few great events due to news feeds being moved off the main page. Really bad idea. Now you filled the space with redundant info instead of current participation
The changes that have been made to my groups prevent me from seeing discussions going on in all my groups. When I click on my name I only see upcoming meetups. It limits my ability to interact with my groups.
Your feed is still there, its just been moved! You can find more information about your Feed here: http://meetu.ps/1ZVyKj
I do not care for the new home page. I prefer to see the calendar as it was, with the comments. I also need to see at a glance what is coming up for the groups I am in, and if I have RSVP'd. I don't care to see what is going on around me. If I did then I would be searching and signing up to those when I want. This new look is actually more time consuming for me and that is not what I want. This went from a nice interactive page to a blah list of stuff I don't need to see.
As organiser of a group I have received many comments from my group members saying much the same as others here that they are now missing events due to the feed not being the first thing they see. Most people I have spoken to liked the news feed and calendar being on the home page.
I am all for change and improvements but I feel this time this isn't easier for members.
I am aware feed is still there but not straight forward to see quickly at a glance.
Hope you can take on board peoples requests for feed to be on home page again.
I actually like the look and feel of the new homepage and prefer the display of events to the previous feed, However the loss of the ability to filter out the events that I am not attending unfortunately far outweighs all the other changes put together.
It would be nice to see the calendar back the old way too, where you can see events you RSVPed for and events you have attended

I'm really despise this drastic & unnecessary change to our home page that's being forced on us by Meetup. We want our old "NEWSFEED" on the left panel back! It is NOT simpler - its looks crowded, less streamlined, and contains info I don't want in my face.
If I really want learn about other meetups & events, I can use the "find Meetup" search, plus you sent this info to us already in an email every week. I don't like this change to my home page at all.
Why are trying fix what already worked? Please at least give us a choice - so I can select the classic non-invasive layout below. Bring back the NEWSFEED & Weekly Overview of events in my Meetup groups.
Where are the comments? Hiddnen?
I would like to read other people's comments.
I would very much like to have feed and calendar on one page to make it easier for me to decide which meetup to attend. The new format makes it harder for me to choose which meetup to attend since I have to go back and forth "home page" and "my feed" page.
The way I used to learn of newly-added meetups was by glancing at the left column of the Meetup home page. That way I was alerted immediately -- even before any email arrived -- and could RSVP before the event filled up.
I don't need to have my next RSVP event in bold at the top of the page... that's a waste of "prime real estate" (the info has already been exported to my personal calendar). And if I want to see a chronilogical order of Meetups, I can do that with Meetups' calendar function.
What I want (and need) to see on the home page is what NEW MEETUPS have been added or changed --- NOT CHRONILOGICAL. Often it's when someone else RSVPs... say, for a meetup two months from now... that the info comes to my awareness, and I can sign up for it NOW, before it fills up.
One of the meetup groups I belong to has events that fill up within an hour of being announced, usually before the email arrives in my mailbox. If you wait for the email, you'll likely be stuck on a waiting list for the event. So I need to see the new events listed -- front & top, on the Meetup home page -- so I don't miss out.
