Larger photos, please. Pics get reduced so much in the Member's view, it's hard to recognize people.
Pictures in the Member's view get reduced so much that the member's faces are hardly recognizable. Please make these pictures bigger that appear in the member's view. OR allow an option for organizers to crop in on photos for the member's view.

Respectfully disagree. Perhaps naively, I look to Meetup for people sharing my interests...and expect to find out what they look like when we meet. As long as there's the organizer puts up a sign on the table or says "look for redheaded Amazon in neon green turtleneck," you know you've got the right group.
On the same note, you CAN see what I look like if you look @ my profile pics. So why all the snippy "real photo" language in groups and then in emails from organizers? My main photo is my pet, and if you really want to see a photo of me the human, well, just click to take a look. No harm, no foul.

Totally agree. They used to be bigger and not proportionally forced into a square. That set Meetup apart from (and ahead of) what Facebook was doing.

Hello? Meetup admins? Anybody there? This complaint has been made by many people, in many posts, for a long time, and I have not yet seen any justification from HQ about why the change to smaller images was made, nor why it can't or won't be undone.

I don't care whether the pictures are made bigger, I can see advantages and disadvantages. But it would be an utter violation for an organizer to be able to change someone's picture in any way (other than blocking a picture completely...that ability seems reasonable since there will always be some jerk posting an inappropriate picture).

Yep, very good to have recognizable pictures in a public setting like Meetup.

I think it is a very good policy to have recognizable pictures in a public setting like MeetUp.

It doesn't matter how large some of the photos are because the pictures are so old that the member is no longer recognizable. Photos that are a reasonable resemblance to how the member looks now would be nice.

Larger pictures in the Member's view, so people are more recognizable!
