What new feature would you like to see on Meetup, and why?

It would be good to have a way to search members in your group by town or zip code, so we can carpool to events.

Here is a way using Google apps...it's a bit convoluted, but not as hard as it seems.
I've updated my earlier posting because Google has made some changes to their system.

        STEP 1:
You must use a Google email account, so click on this link to sign in to your existing account or create a new free account:
        https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=false&rm=false&continue=https://mail.google.com/

        STEP 2:
Now you have to create your user carpool form from this template:
        https://docs.google.com/templates?q=event+carpool+form&sort=hottest&view=public#
Lately Google has been re-directing some of their links to Google drive...it's not required to use the forms, but they may force you to download their free 5gb drive program just to allow you to get to the form page.
You don't have to actually install that program and can delete it from your download folder when you are done.
Once you get to my template by clicking on the above link, click on the "Use this template" button next to it.

        STEP 3:
Now you should get a new web page with a customizable form and coded URL. Replace "__________" with the name of your event and click the "save" button on the upper right corner.
Now click "Email this form" and a box will popup in the center of the screen with the words "Send this form to others". In the upper "TO" box enter the exact email address you see in the "FROM" box (should be the gmail account you are currently signed into).
Press "send" and then switch over to that gmail account.

        STEP 4:
In your inbox you should see (2) new emails....one with the sender as "me" and the other as "Google docs".
Open the one from "me" and you will see a link under the words
"If you have trouble viewing or submitting this form, you can fill it out online: ". Copy this link and post it on your public meetup page. This link will allow members to indicate if they want a ride or are offering a ride, along with their contact info.

        STEP 5:
Now open the other email from Google Docs. Following the words "Replies will automatically fill in the spreadsheet" is a link. Save this link....when you click on it, a spreadsheet with the user data the members sent in when they filled out their forms will appear. You can gather together this data and assign vehicles and drivers to appropriate riders and then post the results to your meetup page.

        Easy pezy!!!
