Ability to allow specific members to post to the mailing list without moderation
We have members who want to use the mailing list feature, but we'd like to moderate it to ensure no spammers and no recruiters. I've set the mailing list to force all messages to be approved, but now I'm approving a lot of messages from people who I've seen post ten times before. I'd like to be able to have them send directly to the ML without moderation, while newcomers get moderated.

So very much this! We moved our group to Meetup from Google Groups, and this is the biggest missing feature for us.

Our group has about 1,700 members and we could definitely benefit from being able to whitelist members.

@George: If a group is 40% active and 1000+ members, or has regular 50+ person events and 500+ members, groups are what the members make the group and we'd like to enable MANY members to post without moderation.
We could also use identity-verified accounts, please:

Please allow us to convert member discussions into meetups-in-the-making.
Thank you!!

Sounds good! Perhaps also make it easy, such as prior-approval-given for all members who have been to 3+ meetups, except for those on a needs-approval list. And prior-approval-given for all members with 3+ prior posts, except for those on a needs-approval list. If I can setup and check both such boxes, in a large group, then I'd only be approving newer-members and newer-posters. Thanks, in advance!

Pretty important for large, public user groups.

Even though I'm three days behind on my email doesn't mean posts to the group should be.

Yes, seriously. This is a no-brainer requirement, so go deploy that now... it's worth a sprint.

This is an important feature and will make a big difference in Meetup's suitability for many groups.

Sounds like the way Meetup should work out-of-the-box.

Yeah, this is a must for any group mailing list. Only way to ensure timely discussion while protecting against spam.
