Allow Organizers to create Meetups in the Making
You have given members the ability to create Meetups in the Making, but have not allowed organizers the same ability!
The only way I could work out to get feedback from my members was to post a meetup title followed by multiple question marks, i.e. Oscar Party???? Then I had to put into the description, and post a comment, explaining to members that this is not a meetup yet, but that if they are interested, they should click on "count me in". And then later, if it becomes a meetup, I will let them know so they can go in and adjust their RSVP. Not surprisingly, I have had absolutely no response at all, where, in the old format, I have always had immediate response on posted ideas.
If you won't bring back "IDEAS" (first choice) then PLEASE, at least let us have the option to create Meetups in the Making!

This is easy to work around with a second free account. If you want to post just a suggested meetup, log into the second account and suggest the meetup.

I agree. We are a moms group and i have all of the board setup as admins and none of them can create a idea/suggested meetup. Everyone needs to be able create suggestions and not just members. The dummy member only works for one person. By adding a dummy member you are also changing your member count to be incorrect. Please make this change.

Unnecessary. The organizer can create an account as a member and create the Mayhem Meetup, if he or she chooses.

This has been a major issue for me as well. The other problem is the lack of the ability for members to show their interest in different proposed topics. No one wants to show interest by saying they'll attend, and then having to come back later and update their RSVP when it gets scheduled. This is one of the main reasons why Ideas was better than "in the making."

I voted for a different idea on this page, but Meetup.com just informed me that I cast three votes to this one. Furthermore, I had ten votes before I voted, and I cast only three votes (for another idea), but now I have only one vote left after casting only three out of ten votes.

We're having a LOT of trouble with meetups organizers plan just disappearing instead of being "in the making" or showing up in drafts. If there's no date on it, it goes into limbo. This just plain doesn't work for us. Please fix this soon!

I would like to see the "Ideas" drop down menu back. It was working great and it was much easier to plan ahead.

Why was the ideas system changed/removed. It was easy and it worked. I really dont understand the idea of changing things that arent broke just to keep programmers employed. Please bring back the old Ideas tab.
The new "Meetups in the making" makes it seem like events are going to go ahead no matter what, which isn't always the case. We want feedback from our members before its made an official meetup. -

We're back to the discussion board for posting ideas :-( I finally had enough and turned off the suggestion box. Having to run around worried and stressed about member posted meetups turning out well and policing members to correct and add details to their posted meetups was just a huge headache and too much work!!! Having members add random meetups that will turn out to be successful is a friggin pipe dream, stupid, stupid idea ! Bring back the ideas tab !!!!!!

Please fix this. I have ideas/Meetups in the Making out in lala land because an organizer added them and there is no date because they are ideas. Where do I find these?

Please bring back the old Ideas tab. That way, organizers know what kind of events are popular with their groups. "Meetups in the making" seem like events that are already in the planning stages, which isn't always the case. You tinkered with something here that wasn't broken in the first place, and made the situation worse for organizers!

Please fix this. I just had one of my assistant organizers add an idea/meetup in the making and didn't enter a date which is fine because it is just an idea, but it went into lala land because it doesn't have a date. I wouldn't have even known about if it didn't show up in the activity feed.

I agree, the whole page is needed for ideas (meetups)? Let me as the organizer decide what I want on the home page, isn't this why we have drop down catagories to open?

Since we don't see any new improvements, updates or communication, I wonder what's keeping them so busy? Hopefully not any more ideas at created even more mayhem. Can we have a timeline on when this problem will be solved please??
