VERY IMPORTANT FEATURE MISSING!
Now the following complaint regards the worst decision that meetup has made and that regards the inability for an organizer to remove negative or damaging comments left by group members. Some people leave very negative and embarrassing comments for everyone to see which can be extremely detrimental and harmful to a group. An organizer doesn't even have the power to remove often very purposeful and vicious comments left by members and some of these members can be fake profiles which are actually competitors looking to bad mouth another group. Some people even use curse words. I've seen it several times. When an organizer doesn't have the control to remove these damaging comments it's the most helpless feeling you can imagine. Meetup used to let organizers remove negative comments when they had the "remove rsvp's" option. An organizer could simply put that person who left a bad comment in the did not attend list and that persons picture and comment no longer appeared. Now the only way an organizer can remove a bad comment is by writing to meetup with a request to remove a comment and if the organizer is lucky the comment will be removed in about two days. Meetup used to offer phone support and it was quicker to have comments removed and with phone support EVEYTHING was quicker. Now people can only write to meetup and they have to frustratingly wait for changes to occur. It leaves organizers with anxiety and very stressed out and VERY ANGRY!!

We have so many new members all the time, they don't recognize other members on sight. So, when we meet in a museum lobby or outside a subway station, it would be helpful to have a large meetup logo sign we could print to help the lost souls find the group without having to ask strangers, "Are you with the meetup?" It's like nametags, but just a "Meetup" logo sign for a larger paper (like 8.5 x 11). For more ambitious meetup organizers, you could have other even larger sizes too. I would get a durable plastic sign made for as often as we try to find one another at our meetups.

1. How will anybody know about suggested Meetups if the members are not emailed? Hardly anyone pro-actively browses those lists.

2. Some examples of how 'ideas' being emailed to all members was really, absolutely beautiful in what it gave to members.

2.1 I arrived in Stockholm the other week. I posted an idea on the following saturday afternoon, 'anyone fancy beer?', and had two options on where to go to meet people for my first night out in this city. And i had a brilliant night.

It was too late for a real meetup, but it let us members communicate amongst ourselves and so we organised ourselves - and that strengthens the group - i don't care what the organisers think about that, 5 people met and their group got stronger!

2.2. On a number of occasions, i have posted an idea to go to a gig when i have purchased 2 or 3 tickets. In this way, i have met other people from various groups, who bought my spares, so i ran little informal meetups where the organiser hadn't created such an event.

The important thing is that everyone in a group saw the idea, so it had an audience.

Now, because no emails are sent when someone poss, how are people supposed to know about the Meetup suggestion? There is virtually no audience for them now.

Now i fear my social life here is going to be half dead. You just removed the beautiful spontaneity of 'ideas', Meetup. You have no idea how brilliant what you already had was... seriously, it kicked the ass of anything else on the internet.

I seriously bet if you look at the figures, you will find that usage of the 'ideas' / 'in the making' has plummeted since you implemented this change.

Never mind what has happened to the level of responses to them... you've ruined something brilliant.

Please, please, please, please, please, Meetup... restore the emails to members when someone posts a Meetup suggestion.

(Otherwise what is the point of them anyway?)

I have a group with 30-something members, and right now - since the group is small and it's not much work - I still want to pay the fees myself. Since I'm from the Netherlands and creditcards are not so commonly used here (I don't have or want one), I used the Neteller virtual creditcard app until now. Works fine, but they cancelled the app, and to my great shock there isn't a single other payment option other than creditcard on MeetUp.

Now I had to ask my members if I can work something out with one of them who does have creditcard. Well, let's hope. But really, this is not a real solution to a big problem in my opinion.

I work in the online gaming industry and I know that in order to get customers from a certain country, you need to offer their preferred payment option. There are dozens of reliable partners out there, and by adding just a few you can attract a much larger crowd and make your existing members lives easier.
