Make is clear that the new feature text box is for the title; that another box will appear later with room for a description.
The actual box for the description doesn't appear until the user clicks on "Post an idea..."

Change "organizer" to "group organizer."
Yes, I'm the organizer of the overall group, but for any specific Meetup, I may just be an attendee. The current label makes it sound like I'm charge of that specific meeting, when in fact I'm not.

Allow the Sponsor URL to include referral punctuation, so we can earn rewards on those clicks.
One of my sponsors gave me a unique URL address to track how many people I send to their site ... but I get an error message that it "Doesn't look like a URL". Please expand your accepted formats to include referral punctuation, so we can earn those rewards. For example: http://lv.houseseats.com/?referer=cyn@grangegraphics.com
As is, I can hack it as a Perk URL, but they belong with the sponsors and should be formatted as such, as well as equal mention on the Event Invitations where all sponsors and their links are listed at the bottom of group emails.

allow ability to RSVP by email
My work blocks Meetup, so I get emails for events and have to wait to get home to sign up (nope, no mobile device). Meanwhile, the events usually fill up fast. When I try to respond from my email, it goes through the website which is blocked and won't let me sign up.

Re scheduling
Allow organizers to preview the event they are creating prior to posting or emailing it. It would be really helpful. Thanks!

Share location info for events being attended with the Waze & Apple maps apps.
Waze just updated their app so that event location info is pulled into Waze. This seems to be a great thing to do with Meetup as well.

selection of notification sound on android.
How about a setting for selecting a notification sound on androids? If I wanted my settings dictated to me I would have bought an iPhone.

Check in people that attend meetup with iphone or ipad app
Allow organizer to checkin people at the door from iPhone. Similar to Eventbrite.

Custom Variables
Allow any given meet up group to add one or two custom variables. For example "skill level" for a sports group.

HIDING EVENT DETAILS FOR NON MEMBERS
My group is public. The location of events is hidden to non members. But often, I need to hide more information to non members, such as a RSVP code to print out a movie ticket, or a web link to RSVP for an event, or details about the event that could lead a non member using Google to find the location.
So below the address, there is a field called "How to find us" that I rarely used, and this is also hidden. I can put 1 line line of hidden information but I cannot put a HTML link there…1 vote -
multiple choice feature
I would like to see a multiple choice feature that could be used instead of or along with the questionnaire that members answer in their profile. It would allow the organizer to gather more exact data on the kinds of events the members are interested in. It could also be used in a polls page.

Add a general group comment section below the RSVP section where anyone can comment about anything not just an event. I want to tell my members to check the calender or just say thank you. Not everyone reads the emails but they love to see what people are talking about in the group. Something similar to a newsfeed

Show additional account icons/links (twitter, facebook, etc) for each member in the member list, not just their profile
I often need to contact members about opportunities, and if they have a Twitter account I prefer that method. Having to open every single profile to see if they have a Twitter account is time-consuming, especially for groups with hundreds of members. Please add this info to the general member lists. Maybe even add filters for this info, so we can "weed out" members without those accounts added?

How about 1 email notification per day... Am very close to unsubscribing to all and that would be a pity

Join one meet-up, automatically be joined others in the same organization.
Songmakers has two meet ups songmakers and songmakers-ventura-county. We'd like to link them so that people who join one will be in both.

deleting groups could be done more easily to reduce number of redundant members and empty memberships. I don't delete because it is clunky.
Finding how to delete and then actually deleting groups is too slow and awkward. As a consequence Meetup fgroups contain infated numbers as it is too much bother to delete and keep groups to well used groups.
It should be blinding ly obvious and instead of clicking on each group one at a time it should be possible to click on all groups to be deleted and with one click remove them. The option of adding comments I guess is thought to be a benefit, however I just type xx as I have so many to delete and little time.…1 vote -

Please add "favorite user" as an option
I'd really like to see a "favorite user" option to easily keep track of people you're more likely to have more contact with.
As it is now I have to either keep their profile link in a document, or go to an old event to find a link to their profile!1 vote
