I have 3 kids, and many of the events that I organize are family friendly. Each time I hold one of these events I have to go in and change the default RSVP guest limits to greater than 2. It would be great if I could change the Guest Limit RSVP default for my group so I didn't have to change this each time I plan an event. I have seen requests for this in the past, and the response was that we just change it for each event, and then the ticket was closed. Not the best customer service that I have seen from Meetup!

One of the challenges my group faces is that we cannot collect basic information from meetup from the members we have in our group and are unable to run any demographics of where people live or where best to hold our events. These are basic CRM functions. We can also not port out member information to Mail Chimp or Constant Contact for better newsletter management. Meetup has served our group well, but any group or organization of any size would need to abandon the meetup platform without being able to better connect with group members. Solution for this would be if members could opt in to sharing information with organizers, then provide for a CSV export of data.

I see that there were previous polls on this, but the option hasn't changed. The RSVP 'No' feature should only be available if someone has said they are attending, but then changes their mind. I don't need to know who isn't interested or unavailable to attend unless they initially said 'Yes'.
Remove the question 'Will You Attend' and the 'Yes' 'No' Option, replace it with 'I'm Attending'. Maybe allow Organizers to also specify how long after they say 'Yes' that they say 'No', so that the chronic 'No' sign-up people don't try to get around the lack of the 'No' option by immediately flipping their 'Yes' to a 'No'.

Let’s say I have a cap on RSVP’s at 20 people, and there are five people on the waiting list, of which the first person in line has a plus one, so they are really a party of two people. The remaining three people are not coming with a guest.

Well, if one person drops off the confirmed RSVP’s, leaving 19 people, the two people at the top of the list don’t fill the spot, instead a person whom has no guest below the person with a plus one is automatically added. Wow, that really makes some people mad, and I can’t blame them. Especially, when it happens THREE times!

Ok, so now only the person with a plus one is on the waiting list, and another person drops from the confirmed RSVP’s. We are back to 19 confirmed attendees, but the person with the guest is still waiting. But, one spot is available and any member can take that spot, ahead of the two people on the waiting list. And someone did! OMG, that really gets them mad… mad… and madder. They haven’t left the group, but they see that the system is seriously flawed. And, they are right. The automatic waiting list is flawed.

Here are the basics of what I think needs to be done!
1) When one person drops from the confirmed RSVP list check the waiting list.
2) If the next person in line has a plus one or more change the confirmed count to the current number, but do not promote anyone to the Confirmed RSVP list until enough spaces open up for their additional number of guests count.
3) During the pending phase, specify that there are “x” pending RSVP’s and “x” waiting list RSVP’s.
4) When there is enough space to promote the person and all members of their party, do so in the same method as the waiting list.
5) Of course, the organizer could still usurp this, by simply changing any persons status on the wait list or even the confirmed list, as they already have the ability to do.
The above would solve both problems I described above.
