MONTHLY DUES payment option required to join group!
PLEASE VOTE FOR YOU BETTER MEETUP FUTURE! Us organizers had to pay Meetup in order to have a group and our members should have to do the same in order to join our group. Let us organizers set the amount which can be even be set to $0 for those that still want to give themselves away for free. ORGANIZERS: Imagine receiving just $3 a month times your # of members per month! Join for $3 which automatically re-occurs every month until you cancel! DONE! Everyone is happy including Meetup.com for retaining us... the organizers!

Allow Use of Multiple Paypal Accounts
It would be great if AOs/EOs/EHs were able to collect payments for the events they organize using their own Paypal accounts instead of having all money go through the Organizer's Paypal account.

Allow Organizers to pay meetup fee with a paypal account.
Unless I missed something when I renewed... collect dues to help run the site via paypal yet I can't use the same paypal account to pay for the six-month subscription:-(

Have a free tier to help small groups get started
Starting a new meetup generally incurs cost in a number of areas (venues, etc.) so it'd be a huge help if small groups could operate their meetups free of charge until they reach critical mass. Perhaps allow groups with less than 20 members to operate free of charge, then start paying once they grow beyond this and it becomes financially viable?

Automatic Dues Reminder
Meetup should send automatic emails to members reminding them that their membership dues are due & turn off access if they arent paid within a specified time period (detewrmined by group organizer. This is a lot of work for organizers to "hound" members and keeping it automated would save a lot of time.

Allow members to prepay - and apply credits toward events
Some of our members are unable or unwilling to use PayPal or Amazon Payments. On the door payments are an incredible hassle for the organizers so we charge more. Further we then have to reconcile the fees.
It would be nice if a member could give us a cheque to cover multiple month's worth of events, such that we could apply the credit to their event account, and meetup would debit this balance every time they attend.

Better membership and fee management options
There are several other uservoice ideas/suggestions with similar requests but I'd like to outline things in detail with a few twists
1) Ability to set up a auto-reminder email to members (ability to set frequency at 1,3,6, 12 months depending on the membership due structure)
Auto-renew feature would be nice but I realize that if people change their credit card / paypal account is not-funded etc, then there would be declined transactions or chargebacks from members which means more work for meetup.com HQ. Auto-reminder email won't require additional finance management from meetup.com HQ.
2) Ability to control who can RSVP…

Coupon / Promo Codes for Meetups
Meet up should allow organizers to create coupon or promo codes so that their members can enter them when paying for a meet up to receive discounts. Many organizers use daily deal marketing and it is difficult to offer discounts without a way to redeem them. I would like to see meetup design a method for organizers to create coupon codes for their meet ups and a way for members to redeem the coupon code when they RSVP for a meet up.

Allow each event organizer to enter a Pay Pal address other than Group Organizer's Pay Pal Address
When you click Pay Pal as the payment method, there should be a place to enter the Pay Pal address you want to use. This will allow Assistant Orgnaizer to collect money before "Yes" R.S.V.P's can post. Currently it defaults to the Group Organizer's address. Each event organizer needs to be in control of the money for the event they post.

New members should pay dues before joining a group!
People join, attend 2 meetups don't pay dues and drop out of group. Some of my members have been to 2 meet ups and still haven't paid their dues? some of them have a card but not cash on them at a meetup!
A Membership dues system where NEW members approval could be made pending receipt of dues would be a better idea to receive payment. At the moment organizers are not sure if they will recoup their money they paid to set up the group?

Have way more payment methods to suit people around the world
I have a group with 30-something members, and right now - since the group is small and it's not much work - I still want to pay the fees myself. Since I'm from the Netherlands and creditcards are not so commonly used here (I don't have or want one), I used the Neteller virtual creditcard app until now. Works fine, but they cancelled the app, and to my great shock there isn't a single other payment option other than creditcard on MeetUp.
Now I had to ask my members if I can work something out with one of them who…

Multiple Levels of Membership and Discounts for Events for Some
Looking at other successful groups locally that are not on Meetup, I see a trend in membership and pricing structures. The very successful groups outside of Meetup all have dues, and give discounts to events for due paying members.
To help Meetup groups become more successful and financially solid, I would recommend the following:
1. Allow for multiple levels of membership.
For example, there could be a free membership level that allows anyone to join the group, but members could sign up to be a "Gold Member" (or whatever the organizer wants to call it) which has a set cost…

Stop charging fees for organizers and start targeted advertising for corresponding groups!! you'll probably make more money that way!!
Targeted advertising is a much better way to expand the meetup group possibilities, otherwise people like me who are students won't want to organize something like beach volleyball locally if they have to pay for the "privilege" . No one wants to pay for events that should be free anyways.

Allow a feature to make it obvious that the organizor is making a profit for a particular event
Most of the meetups I attend are for the purpose of people with common interests getting together for common enjoyment. Any money collected covers the cost of the event, but no one makes a profit. When an organizor is making a profit, we are no longer strictly a social gathering, but rather, the attendee is now a consumer and has legal rights as a consumer. A particular meetup event should be clearly identified (feature inabled) when the organizor is charging for the event and making a profit.
