Change the mileage options when searching for meetups and/or show them on a map
I usually search for meetups within 25 miles, because there are only a few within 10 miles. It'd be great to be able to search 15, 20, 30, 35...instead of sorting through 100s to find the closer ones when I search 50 miles . A map showing where the meetups are would help with this too.

Where is the meetup?
When you browse meetups by day, the location of the meetup has been removed. I live in a large metro area, MD/VA/DC, and a Maryland group may have an activity in DC, and a Virginia group may be meeting in Maryland. It's very important for me to know WHERE the activity is going to be held, and I'd like to be able to see it on the Browse Meetups by Date/Day.

There should be an option to display the group description directly on the group home page.
I don't think it's obvious to newcomers that they have to click the "About Us" button in the left panel to find out what the group is about. It should be possible to put the short description of the group right on the home page, above below the tab bar and above the details of scheduled meetups.
It should be possible to enter a longer description for use by the "About Us" button and perhaps also accessed by a "more" link under the short description.

Stop picking random images from my photos and only show group logo when using Find function
Please allow my meetup group to only allow specific photos in my albums to be shown when users use the Find function to find meetups. Currently it picks random images from all my galleries when I would like it to ONLY display my group's logo.

I really love the new?? (to me) feature of so&so is also a member of XX group.
It helps me to determine if this is the type of group I want to participate in. Also, it prompts me to keep an eye out for certain people and I instantly have a new topic of conversation regarding the things we have in common.

allow users to enter their gender, most of my meet-up suggestions are womens groups.
I'm a male, most of the links I receive are for womens groups, and I see no way to enter my preference on your website.

Explore Meetups within <x miles> of ...
On the Find a Meetup Group page, in the upper-left corner under "Explore Meetups within ... " there is a link to change the radius in which to look for Meetups. By default this is set to "Explore Meetups within 50 mile of ..." When I click on the link for 50 miles I am presented with a slider that allows me to choose a radius of 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 miles, then finally Global. while the smaller radii work great for larger cities like Los Angeles or New York, it doesn't work well at all for Las…

Let us delete meetups from our searches so that they will not keep coming up. It will make the searches faster.

Make groups invisible if they are inactive for a certain amount of time (i.e. 300 members, but no events on the calendar for 7 months).
It's annoying to search high and low for meetup groups you are interested in, to find that you have signed up (along with hundreds of other folks) but the organizers don't plan anything. What's the point? Why is this meetup even an option?? I think groups that have no past or future events over a 2 month period should automatically go to an "invisible" status, and reminders should be sent out to the organizer whether or not they want to continue the group.

Unhide group's past events from Google. Right now, group can only be "found" via their upcoming events.
Groups should be able to attract new members from outside Meetup (via search engine/ Google) in addition to those already within Meetup ecosystem.
Potential members usually look at a group's past events history to evaluate whether they are interested in joining.
However, i have noticed that when googling for my events, only the upcoming events for my group seem to be "found" by google and past events seem to be "hidden" or are not SEO-optimized to be found.
Whether this is intentional or accidental, it is shortchanging Meetup as much as the group because think of all the missed opportunities…

Finding meetups in Calendar-location needed too
For the member "YOUR CALENDAR" section on the list of events that member groups are having should INCLUDE THE LOCATION OF EVENT (there).

Provide a way to report a Meetup Group as spam or only out for financial gain.
I just received a notice from Arizona Family Assistance Fund (A.F.A.F.) that is only seeking money to give to their religious organization. That is not a Meetup. You need a "Report" button and have these groups evaluated for abuse or illegal activity.

Ability to find the longest waitlisted categories in my city.
If I could find the longest waitlisted categories in my city - or more generally, it would indicate that there is an unmet need in that category - and perhaps motivate me (or someone else) to start a new meetup to cater to the people who have already expressed interest and are waiting for someone to start something!

The navigation when you scroll down the list of meetups on a certain day is really really bad. First
The navigation when you scroll down the list of meetups on a certain day/time is really really bad. First of all, when you click on a meetup to see the details, then click the back button to go back to the list the system doesn't remember where you are in the list and goes back to the earliest time of that day. This can be really annoying when there are a ton of meetups to peruse through. I suggest you redo the way this works so it's easy to see the details of a meetup, then return to your list…

Implement a "Suggestion" feature for non-organizers
Hi,
I live in New York and I'm going to Grand Teton National Park in October. I love hiking and kayaking, and I would like to find other people to hike with me as guided hikes are prohibited inside the park.
After using the "Find" engine on the site to find hiking meetups, I get zero results. I'm sure there will be many people hiking there at this time of the year, and so I was thinking of a feature that would allow non-organizers who already have a destination/time to create "suggested" meetups in order to find organizers and other…
