Bring back "Mute" for conversations, or fix it so that when you change to "no" notifications are off.
Lately if I've changed RSVP to no (surprise guests in town, it's been a lot!) I've continued to get e-mail notifications of the conversation on that event. There's no longer a "Mute" button for the conversation in the e-mail or on the page (though your help section still claims there is!) and the only option seems to be to unsubscribe to notifications for the group completely. So, either that's badly worded and that's conversation-specific, or there's no way to stop hearing the chatter about an event you're no longer attending. Annoying.

A way to deal with No shows.
Meetup HQ need to implement a complex RSVP/No-show system for this to work.
When members are a no show. They are barred from RSVP to another event. All groups. They are not yet banned or removed. Depends on how much a member cares, this can be resolved almost immediately or indefinitely.
HQ should send them an automatic email to ask to say why they didn't show up, plus a friendly reminder that No shows are not acceptable they need to act more responsible or some groups will ban them.
This can be done via a questionaire-
I didn't show because

Allow for the option to select available days on a calendar
The ability to select/de-select days when you do/don't want to get notifications and alerts for events you can/can't attend would really improve the signal to noise ratio. For people in multiple groups, it gets really annoying to have dozens of emails for events that conflict with your weekly work schedule, for example.

Enhance the Custom Mailing List Option
Make it easier to create custom lists. It is difficult now, everyone must be added one by one. Make options so I can Add All Members, Add Innactive Members longer than x months, all members who have not signed into meetup in x months, or, to upload the Meetup member ID numbers (from the membership Excel Spreadsheet) into a new custom list. Either way, it is very time consuming to create custom lists for a group with 600 people.

Allow members to delete emails. Do not enjoy receiving Meetup notifications on my professional email address.
Please allow members to delete email addresses for receiving Meetup notices. I do not enjoy receiving Meetup notifications on my professional email address. In fact, if this is not changed, I will resign from all Meetup groups within the next month.

change the forum error message "You entered a bad response. Please try again."
Changing this message to something that actually indicates what the rror is and how it might be fixed would be a wonderful step in the direction of not generating this error anymore.

Meetup HQ...please stop spamming my members...thanx
I have today received three unnecessary and annoying emails in my inbox from Meetup...
The first one (and the worst) is an annoying email telling my members to "Stay in Touch!" after we just had a successful gathering...completely ridiculous...
Then i had two more identical emails from Meetup.com telling me about meetup events that i'm not even signed up for..."Rally for Sanity" & "March for Fear"...
Please stop making it even more difficult for me to organize this club without overflowing my members' inboxes...thanx

Make Stay in Touch notices worth something
The "Stay in Touch" button has to be the most meaningless button I have ever seen. It generates spam without any value and people I didn't even talk to seem to push all of the buttons.
I don't know what you were thinking with this feature.
However, if you added something that actually helped us make a connection, it might be valuable. How about the stay in touch button allowed us to send a little message about why we wanted to stay in touch.
I would even force anyone who wanted to send such a message to enter at least…

Please make one button to unsubscribe from all e-mails from all groups for any reason, and one button to turn on all e-mails from all groups
The new e-mail settings are tedious and time consuming. Please make it much easier with a one button click. Please leave custom settings an an option but it shouldn't be this difficult to stop e-mails from all groups.

Add dates to RSVP email notification
When a user RSVP's to a meetup, the email notification to the event organizer should have the date in it. This is even more important for recurring events. Right now I have to manually edit the title for each recurring event to add the date so when users RSVP, I'll know which meetup they are RSVP'ing for..

stop sending me emails inviting me to events that are already full
This seems self-explanatory, but it's really frustrating to read through an email for a great event and then get to the end and be ready to sign up and then read "No spots left!" Just leave me alone then!

Make it easy to respond to an email from a member of a group or, have the message posted in a visible place when I log in.
Make it easy to respond to an email from a member of a group or, have the message posted in a visible place when I log in. At this point, I receive the email notification but, I have no idea where to go to respond to it.

make it possible to block regularly scheduled meetups of a meetup that you can never attend
I suggest that you make it possible to block regularly scheduled meetups of a group you like to attend, but are not able to attend on certain days, so you have the option to block the email for the events that you cant ever attend. Meetups have some events which just don't apply to you, so you need to be able to selectively filter the one which end up being more like spam if they do not pertain to you.

Allow organisers to communicate with your members
Is there any intelligent reason a member can opt out of the messages of organisers?
It isn't even transparent to organisers who gets their messages and who opted out.
This makes it not only particularly hard to deal with zombie members (I don't even know if they are just on life support or already dead). It is actually bonkers, especially in regard of the vast amount of automated communication produced by the system that is annoying members anyway. It would be really great to start and focus on what communication is necessary to make a group work and what is…

Provide option to send email to members when RSVPs open for an event.
We use the feature of setting a date and time in the future for RSVPs to open for an event. We would like the ability for an email to automatically be sent to the group's members, or an email list that we have created, to let them know that RSVPs are open or about to open. We would like to specify a time frame for the notification - for example, notify members 1 day before the event's RSVPs are opened.

Let us filter email notifications by time and location
I like getting email notifications for my favorite meetups, but many of these emails are a waste of my time because they are too far away or incompatible with my schedule (e.g., too early in the morning or during my work hours). I wish I could filter email notifications with time and location restrictions, e.g., "alert of me of meetups in the afternoons within 15 miles of Chapel Hill."

Make emails more share-friendly
Hi there!
Could you make your emails like event notices/reminders more share-friendly? I forwarded one on to my coworkers, and, just by clicking the “Yes” to attend, someone confirmed via my account. Not good, man! I love your service and want to be able to share these with others without worry that they’ll have access to my account. Thanks!

Let organiser able to view the member's email address.
Currently organiser unable to view the member's email address but able to send them email. It will be great if organiser able to view their email address and send them urgent message privately when necessary.
