allow the organizer to edit the RSVP comment in addition to the Y/N/Maybe so we don't have to email
Users get upset when their RSVPs are changed w/o an explanation. They often get the notification before we can follow up with an explanatory email. We could sow two plants with one seed if we could put the explanatory comment in the RSVP comment. We could also edit derogatory/inappropriate comments.

Better control of email settings and notifications
I am part of many meetups. I would like to be able to set my email settings for as many or all groups at the same time since most likely they will be the same settings. There should be a select all option as well as an option to check off which groups to apply the settings to then hit submit.
Also when getting email notifications, we should be able to choose how often we want to be reminded about an event, whether week before, day before, day of, and have the opportunity to choose all or any combination of…23 votes -
Allow mailing list emails to have reply go to sender
Quick summary: Allow an email going to the mailing list to have replies go to sender, not just the current mailing list option.
Background: I am the organizer of a large group (1700+ members). We have events almost every day, sometimes several
per day. We have over 1700 members. When we send new meetup announcements, we do it such that replies go to the event host,
not the whole mailing list. We do this because no matter how many warnings you put on the email, people still just click reply, and then end up emailing the whole group with their…23 votes -
daily or weekly digest
Like many people, I get too much email.
Please provide digest options to send one email (daily or weekly) with all relevant meetup notices,
similar to what is standard for most mailing lists.
Ideally users could specify this per group.23 votes -
Send an error email when someone emails a discussion group they're not a member of.
When you email a meetup.com discussion list from the wrong email, your message doesn't get posted AND you don't get an email back saying you goofed up. Please make it say 'Sorry, your email isn't registered. You need to join this meetup (or meetup.com as applicable)'
I've wasted HOURS writing emails that didnt get through!!!

add a one-click unsubscribe to all email notifications
This is a really big deal--I hate how difficult it is to escape subscription from any mailing list on meetup.com
I've also innocently joined in conversations on meetup regarding logistics and sharing information, then have been banned for spam.
I think the way the meetup email notifications are set up is inherently at fault--it encourages spam and chases away potential users.
There are also legal implications as ICANN requires a one click unsubscribe for email spam.
Please train your product manager... this is always a topic that comes up again and again when I'm talking to people at meetups. How…

Please return the 'Not Going' notification and member msg on News Feed main page. It's courtesy.
As Organiser, and member, it's courteous to advise if you are no longer going so we're not guessing who has cancelled.

Bring Back Old "New Meetup Announcement" Email Format (with Photos & Event Details)
Please bring back the old "New Meetup Announcement" emails, where photos & full event descriptions are displayed.
The New Format is TERRIBLE for Promoting our Meetups because...
- does not have photos
- doesn't have full description
- it doesn't grab our members' attention as well
- members have to click on the e-mail to see photos / get details
- members already get a ton of emails from other meetup groups, it would not make sense to click on every single New Meetup Announcements to get the details and make a decision whether or not to attend
- all…16 votes -
Turn off the "liked your comment" email notifications
I don't remember receiving these before - maybe "Like" is a new feature? - but today I got a least three such email messages, none of which I cared about. Turns out I can't even turn them off, at least not from what I'm seeing in my account options. Pretty ridiculous of MeetUp to assume that *everyone* is interested in every single "Like."

Emailing No Shows
Currently we have the option to email the ones who attended an event after an event had taken place. Can we please also have the option to email the no-shows once we finish marking them?

Don't email me reminders for full/wait listed events
I don't want to be reminded about event that I can't attend (i.e. that's already full or has a wait list)

Make email notifications easier to filter per Group
I like to filter my email per meetup group, since i runa group i like all email related to that one to go to a specific folder then email from other groups.
This is very hard now because there is nothing in the subject or from email to allow me to filter on this. I would suggest applying one of the following to email notifications:
1) Define a subject prefix
Much like yahoo Groups or Google groups, allow group owners to add a prefix to the subject, so it would look like this:[AmsterdamPHP] New member just RSVP'd
2) Differentiate…

Stop "Email Event Hosts when members RSVP" No and only get an email if the member RSVP's Yes
I don't want to get emails when I choose the option "Email Event Hosts when members RSVP" if the member RSVP's "No." I would like an option to be added that says: "Email Event Hosts when members RSVP Yes."

Create a message system on the site with an inbox and the ability to reply to members directly.
I just got an email saying I had a message from a Meetup.com member, and it took me at least ten minutes to figure out how to reply -- and I couldn't figure this out on my own, I had to search the help files. It would be WAY more convenient if there was just an "inbox" message system on this site.

Allow organizers to decline a request to join the group WITHOUT letting the person know.
There are some genuine nutcases out there that I don't want joining the group. Frankly, I am afraid that they will become angry by declining their membership, so I just never respond one way or the other.
This is more a bookeeping issue, since not responding to their request does the same thing as not letting the person know that they have not been accepted.

Bring back time/date in RSVP change notification e-mails
You have changed latest RSVP notification e-mail system. I have a problem with the new system because I put penalties for late cancellations.
I need to know in the e-mail:
1. What time they have changed their RSVP
2. What was their previous status (was it from waiting list or was it from "yes"? or "no"?)I know many organizers put penalties for late cancellations like me, so please include those information on the notifications or put it back as it was before as soon as possible.

Integrate with google calendar and google authentication so that events show up on calendar and remind us.

allow plaintext notifications/emails
We have a few old-school people in our group who really don't like HTML email, and it's kinda excessive for text-only notifications. I've also found that our directions link is broken because of html "interpretation" changing "&" to "&" (which isn't valid in a Google maps url).

don't send email for RSVPs
Members are receiving email to ask them to RSVP yes or no. We hate this option because members don't know just to back out of it and it causes a ton of NO emails. Please make it stop :)

state "to" full's name in the email you receive with the copy of the message you send on the site
When I write someone on the site and ask the system cc me on what I wrote - I get an email with my text and have no idea whom I wrote to. The email should include person's full name which by clicking should lead to their profile.
