I am part of many meetups. I would like to be able to set my email settings for as many or all groups at the same time since most likely they will be the same settings. There should be a select all option as well as an option to check off which groups to apply the settings to then hit submit.
Also when getting email notifications, we should be able to choose how often we want to be reminded about an event, whether week before, day before, day of, and have the opportunity to choose all or any combination of options if we want that many reminders but also none if we dont want any at all. We also should have the option to choose when we do get these weekly or however often reminders, to not get any future reminders on the event. If I wasnt interested in the event on the week before reminder, I dont need a day before reminder for it again.
If its a weekly meetup that occurs every week, we should have the option to not get announcements on those recurring meetups and the option to not get any reminders on the recurring meetups either. I would prefer to get all meetups for a specific day listed in one single reminder email that includes the meetup group thats hosting, day, time and location, as well as FULL event description and link to rsvp for each meetup occurring on that specific date, all in the same email. It would be one long email but I prefer that than getting 20 different emails for 20 events on the same day. That would help so much with the mass amount of emails I receive.

Quick summary: Allow an email going to the mailing list to have replies go to sender, not just the current mailing list option.

Background: I am the organizer of a large group (1700+ members). We have events almost every day, sometimes several
per day. We have over 1700 members. When we send new meetup announcements, we do it such that replies go to the event host,
not the whole mailing list. We do this because no matter how many warnings you put on the email, people still just click reply, and then end up emailing the whole group with their question or comment on the event. I have people leaving the group on a weekly basis because of too many emails (lots of
events!). Ideally, I would want to tell my AOs that when they create an event, send it to the mailing list instead of 'all members'. This would allow people to choose to opt out of the mailing list and no longer get the ton of event notifications. But when you click on 'mailing list', the only option for replies is mailing list! I don't want more useless email threads to get started, so what I really want is to send my new event announcements to the mailing list, and replies go to me (or the AO setting up the event).

This is a really big deal--I hate how difficult it is to escape subscription from any mailing list on meetup.com

I've also innocently joined in conversations on meetup regarding logistics and sharing information, then have been banned for spam.

I think the way the meetup email notifications are set up is inherently at fault--it encourages spam and chases away potential users.

There are also legal implications as ICANN requires a one click unsubscribe for email spam.

Please train your product manager... this is always a topic that comes up again and again when I'm talking to people at meetups. How do I unsubscribe?It's actually difficult to explain and it's tedious to unsubscribe from any group.

Otherwise this is a great service!

Please bring back the old "New Meetup Announcement" emails, where photos & full event descriptions are displayed.

The New Format is TERRIBLE for Promoting our Meetups because...

- does not have photos
- doesn't have full description
- it doesn't grab our members' attention as well
- members have to click on the e-mail to see photos / get details
- members already get a ton of emails from other meetup groups, it would not make sense to click on every single New Meetup Announcements to get the details and make a decision whether or not to attend
- all our organizers now have to copy & paste their event details/photos and email blast our group mailing list to promote their events

IT SIMPLY DOESN'T MAKE SENSE! Please try to see this from a "sales" mentality and point of view. It makes it a lot harder for us organizers to get members to RSVP to come out to our events.

I like to filter my email per meetup group, since i runa group i like all email related to that one to go to a specific folder then email from other groups.

This is very hard now because there is nothing in the subject or from email to allow me to filter on this. I would suggest applying one of the following to email notifications:

1) Define a subject prefix
Much like yahoo Groups or Google groups, allow group owners to add a prefix to the subject, so it would look like this:

[AmsterdamPHP] New member just RSVP'd

2) Differentiate from email
Right now all email comes from info [at] meetup.com, it would be cool if you could add +<groupname> to that email. This means it would still work for replies and all, but would allow filtering

from: info+amsterdamphp [at] meetup.com

Both are very simple, and 2 can be done right now without any other changes.
