Allow organizers to moderate comments before entire mailing list is spammed
Please, please, please let the organizers moderate comments before they are spammed to the entire mailing list. This is the most abused feature on Meetup.com.
I know that individual meetup users can change their preferences to not receive those comments. No one else knows that, unless the look really hard. New members think the organizers have some influence on this. They do not.
I organize one of Silicon Valley's largest and most active meetups, and our users complain about this to me constantly. Please change this.

allow option of only receiving emails for "YES" RSVP's. I do not want to see the "No" RSVP's.
As an organizer, I like to receive emails when members RSVP "YES". But, I do not need to see all the "No" RSVP's in my inbox. I can see these online and I find members tend to go online and RSVP "No" to about 20 meetups at a time... it can get a little annoying on my Blackberry! It would be nice to have the option to opt out of the "No" RSVP emails.

Ability to allow specific members to post to the mailing list without moderation
We have members who want to use the mailing list feature, but we'd like to moderate it to ensure no spammers and no recruiters. I've set the mailing list to force all messages to be approved, but now I'm approving a lot of messages from people who I've seen post ten times before. I'd like to be able to have them send directly to the ML without moderation, while newcomers get moderated.

Create an option to recieve a SINGLE daily or weekly email from Meetup to replace multiple email notifications
Meetup is an incredible tool, but one of the most annoying things about being an active participant is the sheer volume of emails one receives from different groups, new meetups maching your interests, etc.
An idea that would help dramatically reduce the number of emails we have to deal with would be an option to receive a single "Meetup Digest" email daily or weekly, containing any newly added meetups, newly joined members/discussion posts, etc. that users would normally receive individual emails about. This email could be dynamically created for each user based on their group memberships and what email triggers…

Expand on the custom email lists so that people could reply 'within' the custom list
It would be good to have a mailing list for certain members of the group so that you could have a conversation with 10-20 people without having to disturb the entire group with mails. The best example would be the leadership team, we currently have no way to have an email conversation between the leadership team without ccing everyone involved - this would be very useful.

Create A Special Announcements Module
There currently is no place on the Group's Main page to post Special or Emergency Announcements. When they appear in the Latest Activity Feed they quickly drop off of the screen. I would use this Special Announcements Module or Bulletin Board Module for Event Cancellations, FDA recalls, Product Recalls, Health Warnings etc. Ideally this module would be placed above the Latest Activity Feed. It would also be very helpful if this module allowed BB code or HTML

add the ability for organizers/ to stop getting emails about ratings for meetups.
Organizers, co-organizers, and event hosts get emails after a meetup in their group saying whether ratings are in or not in for that past meetup. There is currently no way to not receive these emails. Meetup.com should allow users to change their notification status regarding ratings emails.

Email a ticket to the members who RSVPed "YES" for a Meetup event
This is important because then members can print out the tickets and bring them to the event. Often times, organizers have to be responsible for bringing a list and checking attendees' names off of the list. The problem is some attendees insist arguing they RSVPed while the organizers, obviously, couldn't find their names on the list. It pisses everybody off and wastes a lot of time, not to mention the people who are waiting on the line.
Here is my solution. Send an email automatically once attendees RSVP "YES" for a Meetup event so they can print out the ticket…

Reduce number of Emails Sent !!
As an organizer I get way too many emails for basically every action that happens on the club or an event I organize. And I'm sure I speak for everyone on Meetup.com - Organizer or Not:
I get an email:
- When someone RSVP's for an event I organized.
- Or Changes their RSVP.
- Adds a Photo to an album I created:
- Comments on a Photo, I previously commented on.
- Adds a comment to a meet-up I created.
- Emails me a comment if I commented on a meet-up that I did not organize ... and so…60 votesWe have a team dedicated to revamping all messaging on Meetup over the course of the next year.

Make meetup events automatically add to a group facebook page events
Facebook group pages have events, Meetup has meetup events, when a Meetup group has a Facebook page, meetups should auto post to the Facebook page events calender.

Reinstall Share button
Please reinstall the share button so I am able to share my meet ups on my Facebook page. It helped me get new members and it keeps the interest active. Miss it!

ability to create more attractive email newsletters
I send a weekly email newsletter to my members but it is very basic. Since we are artists, I would love to be able to create a dynamic newsletter with pictures, banners, links, colorful layout, etc.

create an option for customized email lists when announcing a new event to the group
meetup currently has two options to announce the new event during the set-up phase; to email the entire group or to invite friends from facebook. we need to have a better system in place to email new events to the group because not every event applies to everyone. this function would be similar to the current custom email list that you can find under "email members" but would apply to announcing a new event only. this could help make events more localized. for example, my meetup group is currently based in a large county, some members cannot attend several events,…

give organizer's an option to control number of events to display on home page
We schedule multiple events per week which pushes the discussions to the bottom.
With your new user interface change, now the discussions gets scrolled way way down at the bottom of the page. No one will scroll down to read it or see it.
http://www.meetup.com/ocwingchun/I prefer the old interface.

Don't shorten the event description in the announcement email!
Its annoying that now the full event description is not displayed in the announcement email. That means members must click to read the whole thing. It's hard enough grabbing the attention of members. This just makes it harder.

Allow a quiet time setting for Meet Up notifications.
Allow a quiet time setting for M-Up notifications. Essentially don't send me messages between XX:XX PM and XX:XX AM. Since I use my iPhone as my alarm - I hear the ping from meetup msgs recvd at 2,3 &4 AM. I wan't the msgs but they can wait till 07:30.

daily or weekly digest
Like many people, I get too much email.
Please provide digest options to send one email (daily or weekly) with all relevant meetup notices,
similar to what is standard for most mailing lists.
Ideally users could specify this per group.24 votes -
allow the organizer to edit the RSVP comment in addition to the Y/N/Maybe so we don't have to email
Users get upset when their RSVPs are changed w/o an explanation. They often get the notification before we can follow up with an explanatory email. We could sow two plants with one seed if we could put the explanatory comment in the RSVP comment. We could also edit derogatory/inappropriate comments.

Allow mailing list emails to have reply go to sender
Quick summary: Allow an email going to the mailing list to have replies go to sender, not just the current mailing list option.
Background: I am the organizer of a large group (1700+ members). We have events almost every day, sometimes several
per day. We have over 1700 members. When we send new meetup announcements, we do it such that replies go to the event host,
not the whole mailing list. We do this because no matter how many warnings you put on the email, people still just click reply, and then end up emailing the whole group with their…23 votes
