Track members last discussion date
To ensure members are actually participating online, it would be great to have a way to track a last post date for discussion board info. There's a last attended date for events, but I'd like to also track when people last posted.

We now can see who is member of the same group as us...
Now we can see who is member of the same meetup group as us, we can even see who we know apparently.... What for? Is this really useful?? Do we need to follow people? Would it be possible to keep people's privacy? I personnaly don't like it. And I would vote for deleating this new tool...

Please add the option of posting an end time for meetups. It would help our group greatly!!!
We need to add an end time for our meet up group to avoid confusion. Please make this an option when creating events.

MONTHLY DUES payment option required to join group!
PLEASE VOTE FOR YOU BETTER MEETUP FUTURE! Us organizers had to pay Meetup in order to have a group and our members should have to do the same in order to join our group. Let us organizers set the amount which can be even be set to $0 for those that still want to give themselves away for free. ORGANIZERS: Imagine receiving just $3 a month times your # of members per month! Join for $3 which automatically re-occurs every month until you cancel! DONE! Everyone is happy including Meetup.com for retaining us... the organizers!

Allow a quiet time setting for Meet Up notifications.
Allow a quiet time setting for M-Up notifications. Essentially don't send me messages between XX:XX PM and XX:XX AM. Since I use my iPhone as my alarm - I hear the ping from meetup msgs recvd at 2,3 &4 AM. I wan't the msgs but they can wait till 07:30.

Set up a way for members to choose what cities their "local area" should encompass.
When a member inputs their zip code, provide radio buttons to choose a 10, 20, 30, 50, 100 mile radius of recommended groups. OR give a list of 5-10 of the largest population areas near them. I live in Columbia, MD. Meetup recommends Washintgon DC area groups to me when I'd rather see recommendations for Baltimore area groups.

Reduce number of Emails Sent !!
As an organizer I get way too many emails for basically every action that happens on the club or an event I organize. And I'm sure I speak for everyone on Meetup.com - Organizer or Not:
I get an email:
- When someone RSVP's for an event I organized.
- Or Changes their RSVP.
- Adds a Photo to an album I created:
- Comments on a Photo, I previously commented on.
- Adds a comment to a meet-up I created.
- Emails me a comment if I commented on a meet-up that I did not organize ... and so… more32 votesplanned ·AdminGreg Whalin (CTO, Meetup.com ) responded

Honour privacy settings.
I said that I want my meetup groups kept private, but every time I RSVP to an event, it gets published on the Feed.

Ability to RSVP to the same recurring event on one web page .
I run a Dragon Boat club and we have weekly practices that occur on the same day and time. It would be nice to have the option to RSVP for all the events for the month at once.

Privacy issue, hide "connections," photos, etc
Please help me! I am a victim/witness in a criminal court case and cannot have my photos, meetup groups, activities, name, etc splashed around as much as it increasingly has been. I need the option to hide as much as possible, such as this new Connections feature that broadcasts to every single member what other groups I am in (even though I have that "hidden"). I would also like to be able to hide all photos in each group except for the one I select. Ultimately, I know the concept and goal of meetup.com but each member should still be… more

Have another status button to "CONFIRM" a person's attendance.
In all meetups, people RSVP "YES" and are on the "Going" list, while of course, others do the same and are on the "Waiting List." Quite often, when an event is created several weeks in advance, people on the "Going" list don't bother to check the calendars and end up flaking out at the last minute. So, what I've been doing is asking people to add the text "Confirmed" in their RSVP a week or so before the event, so that the folks on the waiting list (who indeed want to come) can join in, if others don't respond. It's… more

Provide organizers with badges they can award members
I want to be able to reward members who perform services for my meetup, such as giving talks, video recording meetings, or taking notes and posting them.
I've love to have a pool of "merit badges" available that I can assign meaning to, and give to my members, and have meetup track a count for them. These should show up on the member's profile, and probably next to their name in the RSVP list, so others can see the reward.
It would also be nice to automatically reward people who attend regularly, or at least give a count of the… more

Rank people by flakiness (yes rsvp but no-show) and allow organizers to specify max flaky level
For popular events, where space is very limited, there are often long waiting lists. When people RSVP yes but then don't show up it creates a sad situation where a much-anticipated meetup ends up feeling like an empty house.
It would help prevent this if meetup users were given a "flakiness" score that is determined by how often they RSVP yes but do not show up. Organizers could then specify that a meetup is only available to people with a low flakiness quotient, helping to ensure that those who RSVP yes will actually show up and the meetup won't be… more

Create multiple folders within Files.
I run a writing group, and it would be useful to be able to create multiple folders under files for various types of stories being submitted for different meetings, topics, assignments, etc.

Block Meetup from Google Searches. Facebook already effectively blocks me from Google Searches, but Meetup does not. Can you implement this?

I suggest organisers should have the option to approve comments on meetup listings first as spammers are now starting to take advantage.

Limit the number of tags a group may use
Right now groups can add as many tags as they want, including ones that are irrelevant to their group. This allows them to spam meetup members.
Limit groups to no more then 5. This will force organizers to define their groups better, allow members to find groups that actually fit what they are looking for, and prevent spam.

Allow un-RSVP
One of my meetups has a weekly meeting which I only occasionally attend, and I accidentally RSVP'd to the wrong one.
I don't want to say "yes" (since I don't know that i'll be coming that week), I don't want to say "no" (since I don't know that I won't be coming that week), and the Maybe option is gone, so I'm left with no exits

Make it easier to find the way to leave a group
Went to account settings, went to groups, went to group page itself. Cannot find how to leave a group. Making this more user friendly would be a very good idea. I should NOT have to search and spend 1/2 hour trying to find a way to leave a group. I never have discovered how yet. I'm stuck in groups that I do not want to be in. What gives?

Highlights
Now that we can only decide yes or no if where going, how about making a highlight button that will show up in our account somewhere as a highlight. It will show us events we were interested in going to but where unsure if we could make therefor not clicking the yes or no button. The button should be in the group next to the yes and no button. Periodic emails reminding us about the highlight would be good also.
